WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Tooth loss can occur for a variety of reasons, such as severe decay, injury, or periodontal disease. However, tooth loss does not have to be permanent. Dental implants are replacement tooth roots used to restore missing teeth.

Implants are made of biocompatible titanium and consist of three parts:

  • A screw-like metal post that is surgically implanted in the jawbone
  • A connector, called an abutment, that holds and supports an artificial tooth
  • An artificial tooth, called a dental crown

Once placed, a dental implant can fully replace one or more missing teeth to complete your smile and restore your oral health.

All our implant cases are fully guided, meaning everything from implant to crown is virtually created using the best available technology. This virtual creation allows Dr. Anderson to place implants that are virtually guided to be in the healthiest position for the best possible results.

Our implants are also top-of-the-line, representing the cutting-edge of modern implant technology. They are specially coated using a technique that drastically speeds the healing process and reduces the chance of complication. Dr. Anderson uses every possible technological advantage available to improve success and long term health.

How Do Dental Implants Work?

The implant is inserted into your top and/or bottom jaw in a simple surgical procedure. Once placed, it will take up to a few months for your implant to bond with your jawbone and fully heal from the procedure. This process is called osseointegration. Next, the connector (abutment) will be attached to the implant.

After your gums heal, our dentist will take impressions of your mouth and remaining teeth to custom-make your crown. We make our crowns out of high-quality porcelain for its natural look and strength. The crown will then be attached to the implant to complete the restoration.

Your implants will give you back your beautiful, healthy smile, allowing you to bite, chew, and speak with confidence.

How Long Do Implants Last?

A dental implant is a permanent tooth replacement solution. On average, dental implants can last 25 years. By practicing good at-home care and attending regular checkups, your implant can keep your smile complete for many years to come.

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?

Dental implants are an important investment in your oral health, and the cost of your dental implants will depend on your unique treatment needs. We will help you to understand your needs and find a treatment plan that works for you and your budget.
